Beet Juice Treats Cancer, Lowers Blood Pressure and Improves Athletic Performance
74Most people are unaware of the amazing health benefits that beet juice provides. It is best known as a blood builder and purifier. Research has been conducted with beet juice and cancer tumors. Hungarian doctor Alexander Ferenczi found that quart a day of the juice was effective in breaking down and eliminating tumors in cancer patients. It is effective in preventing the body cells DNA from mutating which leads to cancer. The body contains a cancer detoxifying substance known as glutathione, which has been found to increase when beets are ingested.
Glutathione is effective in flushing many types of toxins out of the body. Cancer destroying CD8 cells found in the colon have also been increased after consuming beet juice. Colon cancer is one of the most prevalent types of cancer. Drinking beet juice daily is powerful preventative medicine. Beet juice can be mixed with carrots and/or apples for good flavor.
One university study showed that consuming beet juice may improve athletic performance by reducing fatigue, lowering blood pressure and increasing endurance. In the study, those who drank beet juice before working out performed 16 percent longer than those who did not. It is believed that the beet juice has the ability to slow the burning of oxygen, which prevents fatigue for a longer period of time.
To receive the powerful health benefits that beet juice offers, make sure that it is made from organic beets. Today, many non-organic beets are being genetically modified which leads to cross pollination with neighboring varieties. Genetically modified foods are not known for their health benefits but for their potential to make you sick.
