Blendtec Blender Review: Fiber By Juice And More
64The Blendtec Blender with it's BPA free container and 7 year warrantee provides a delicious, safe and practical way to benefit from many health restoring and sustaining foods on a daily basis. For many years juicing was my favorite method of extracting concentrated doses of nutrients from fresh fruits and vegetables. I still juice today on occasions which require large bursts of nutrition. An example would be experiencing the initial symptoms of a cold or the flu. Juicing a couple times a day for two or three days would allow my body to annihilate the virus every time. Juicing is also a powerful way to combat disease.
I found the downside to juicing was that I didn't find it practical for daily, year round use. First, it was too expensive and second, I felt I was throwing important health benefits as well as my money down the drain every time I threw the pulp away.
In the past I had tried different blenders to make "whole food" juice (the pulp is retained) but I was unable to find a blender that was able to completely liquify many fruits and vegetables. Then I discovered the Blendtec Blender. This is the blender that is used in many popular smoothie shops, coffee shops and restaurants. It is not cheap, selling for $399.00USD retail. When I saw the price I was curious as to why it was so expensive. At the time I was in a Costco and the machine was being used to demonstrate it's many benefits:
The demonstration showed that the blender was able to completely liquify any fruit or vegetable into a very smooth beverage in a short period of time. The advantage here over juicing is that you are getting a whole food juice because all the fiber is intact and this nutrient which is so essential to maintaining a healthy body is not thrown away. The Blendtec blender also can make soups, smoothies, ice cream, frozen yogurt, and more.
The Blendtec blender has a unique, square shape, pre-programed blend cycles and is driven by a powerful,1560 watt motor. The pre-programed blend cycles are unique to Blendtec. These cycles allow the machine to speed up and slow down, causing food to change positions and drop for maximum blending. When the cycle is complete the blender stops automatically. The advantage to the square shaped container is seen in it's ability to prevent the constant swirling of food as in round containers. When food hits the corners it drops into the blades so that no food is left unblended. The best way to load the blender for the smoothest blend is liquids first, soft ingredients in the middle and hard ingredients on top. Blendtec also carries other models with larger containers and blades.
Blendtec is famous for blending things like baseballs and marbles. Doing this shows that the blender can easily handle any food, including frozen fruit and ice. It will even grind wheat into flour.
Cleaning the Blendtec takes about 10 seconds. Simply add a drop of dish soap, fill container half full with warm water. Replace lid and press pulse for a few seconds. Rinse and turn upside down to dry. It is also practical. It is compact enough to fit under most standard countertops and will fit in a suitcase when going on vacations. Taking the blender on vacations is a great way to avoid all the unhealthy food, and in most cases, the only food when on the road. The Blendtec blender comes with a 7 year warranty and a large recipe book with over 300 recipes in 10 food categories.
The Blendtec blender makes it easy to synergistically combine healthy foods in a way that tastes great. Many people eat health destroying, junk food because it tastes great. Why not blend healthy foods because it tastes great, makes you feel great and leads to a long and healthy life?

I think there are only two blenders that are truly worth the money, one is Blendtec, and the other is Vitamix.
I own Vitamix and use it 2-3 times per day to make green smoothies. Read my review here:
