Dandelion Treatment for Uneven Skin, Blotchy Skin and Discolorations

By

Whether you are trying to treat uneven skin, blotchy skin or discolored skin you may have found that the most promising skin treatments available are not working for you. Our skin is the first line of defense against the millions of foreign substances that are present in our environment. It acts as a shield to prevent the invasion of these substances. It also is a means of excreting toxins from the body. All of this work done by the skin can take its toll and the skin can become subject to various disorders including color change, bumps and blisters, flaking, cracking, dryness, roughness, itching, redness, thickening and scaling.

You can’t use cortisone on eczema (or any rash) without the possibility of replacing your skin eruption with a more serious internal disease like irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, seizures, or migraines. Salve and ointment drugs only drives the problem inwards to a more dangerous level.

Dry Skin, Blotchy Skin or Discolored Skin

There are several reasons for skin eruptions such as dry skin, blotchy skin, red or itchy skin. The most common are allergies to chemicals, cosmetics, molds, foods. Other causes are drugs, sun and wind exposure, alcohol, fungi and insect bites. Reactions to fragrances can also contribute. Skin conditions may be an outward reflection of an inward disturbance in the body. A good example is eczema. When this condition is suppressed with ointments and creams without curing the cause, severe asthma quickly develops.

When using powerful cleaning products around the house, it is a good idea to wear gloves and avoid the fumes as much as possible. Well known companies are now offering powerful “green” household and personal care cleaning products as the healthy alternative. Synthetic materials found in chemical brands tend to prevent the skin from breathing. Sweat, dirt and chemicals quickly begin to accumulate in pores which aggravates the skin including any existing conditions. Proper diet for healthy skin is a must. Eliminate foods that contribute to skin disorders such as soft drinks, refined sugar, white flour, excessive intake of caffeine, chocolate, alcohol and dairy products.

An inefficient liver will result in an excessive amount of toxins being dumped into the skin for excrement resulting in many different types of skin reactions. Effective home skin remedies include herbs that are effective in detoxifying the liver which will cause relief from skin conditions. Dandelion root is an excellent liver detoxifier. You can make a tea from fresh or dried roots. Use one teaspoon for each cup of boiling water. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Dandelion root can also be added to salads.

After about a week drinking the dandelion tea, you can add artichoke leaf juice to your diet. This plant is known to regenerate the cells in the liver. Add one tablespoon of artichoke leaf juice to six tablespoons of water and drink three times per day. Black current leaves are another effective treatment for the liver that can be used in the same dosages as artichoke leaf juice.

Stinging Nettle is another herb known to be very effective in treating skin conditions. You can make a tea from fresh or dried leaves. Use one teaspoon for each cup of boiling water. Steep for about 15 minutes and drink 3 cups per day.

Useful. I have a dry, itchy patch of skin near my eyebrow. It is a reaction to hair removal wax.
