The Weight Loss Spinach Salad is easy to prepare, tastes great and can be varied enough to be eaten daily. The salad contains a variety of low glycemic carbs, each loaded with different nutrients. The Weight Loss Spinach Salad has a powerful combination of fresh vegetables, seeds, feta cheese and dried fruit. To receive the maximum benefits for weight loss and overall health, choose organic produce whenever possible. This salad is best when vegetables are chopped small and feta cheese is finely crumbled. Crumbling feta is easily accomplished by mashing with a fork.

4 cups spinach

1 tbsp raw sunflower seeds

1/2 cup dried cranberries

2 tbsp mashed feta cheese

3 green onions or 1 stick celery or 1/2 green, red or yellow pepper or a combination of all three

1 vine tomato or 8 cherry or mixed cherry tomatoes

5 pcs broccoli and or cauliflower, chopped, with or without stems

3 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Eating this salad with high protein foods such as baked chicken or fish is the perfect combination for effective weight loss. A smaller salad can be made and combined with additional low glycemic carbs such as brown rice or whole grain bread.

The best thing about the " slow carb" diet is that you won't lose muscle mass. High quality carbs are effective in the maintenance and building of lean muscle. Severely restricting calories with low carb diets causes the body to burn away muscle instead of fat. Loss of muscle slows the metabolism making it more difficult to burn away excess fat.

Scribenet, only if you can find something as nutrition as spinach. You are wasting your time with lettuce.

Sounds great(except for fetta cheese..eww). I love the ideas of cranberries. I have had a similiar sald with rasberry vinegrette,and the sweet/sour taste was scrumptious. I imagine this salad will taste wonderful!

I am in that camp too that doesn't like spinach. Can greens be a substitute? I think it's the closest thing to spinach.

I like a sprinkle of chopped walnuts too. Are blue cheese crumbles acceptable?

Ocbil, in this salad spinach doesn't taste like spinach. You really need to try I before you knock it. Eating spinach on a regular basis will have tremendous consequences on your long-term quality of life including weight control, particularly when it is eaten with the other foods on this salad. Austinstar, blue cheese crumbles are fine just don't overdo it lol

YUM!!!! this sounds soooo good! I love spinach. I have lost 83 pounds over the last year and a half and would like to lose 20 more. I eat right for the most part, I do allow myself a treat now and then but in moderation. Thanks for a delicious Hub!!

Just thought I would post...I have now made this salad. Steve, you are right...no spinach flavor. This is a very good combination, sweet salty,tangy and mellow.
